- I hope you all had a great extended weekend! We’re back to our normal 5-day week with our two STAAR Ready tests!
Things to watch out for:
- Parent Survey:
The annual Round Rock ISD survey is now open for parents to provide valuable feedback on how schools are working and what can be done to improve campus and District practices. The survey will be available through February 9, 2018 and can be accessed in English and Spanish.
Once surveys are compiled, the information will be returned to each principal and posted on the District website. The results are used as part of the campus improvement planning process and some parent responses are used for House Bill 5 Community and Student Engagement metrics.

This Week We Are Learning:
Math: We are continuing our study of decimals. We have learned adding and subtracting, and rounding. This week we will be using decimals within perimeter and to solve data analysis problems by using information on bar graphs, stem and leaf plots, and dot plots. We will be testing Tuesday (1/30). Our next unit of study will be Connecting Whole Number Multiplication and Division Concepts to Decimals.
Science- We are finishing up our unit on Earth and Space. Our next unit will begin our study of Life Science. We will begin with a unit on identifying Living and Nonliving things. We will be discussing Fossils as well as the Carbon Dioxide and Oxygen Cycle between plants and animals. The students will be looking at fossils to identify how they help scientists know what past life and environments were like. If you have any examples of fossils that you would like to share with your child’s class, please contact their science teacher to make arrangements.
